    Hmmmm, thinkin …
Hmmmm, thinkin about it in terms of pure soulful vox, you could be right, or at least they are equal…. I just prefer (but only just) the Band’s music which tips it for me. ‘Fact’ was obviously tongue in cheek, I have never yet come across a soul-o-meter which determines who is more soulful, it’s all down to what touches your soul I reckon

heerrm herrrm..CORRECTION! bar one!you must live in a cave with one channel on your radio brother.. there is no one greater than Steve “f’n” Marriot when it comes to “white” soul singers.. you kidding me? Levon is soulful but don’t state it as fact that he is the greatest..

Levon Helm, the greatest singing drummer in the world! Indeed yes, but before his ‘accident’ Robert Wyatt ran him a very close second.

    Yeah, great …
Yeah, great breakdown. Pure The Band synergy.
But I’m afraid I’m starting to hear “my biggest mistake was loving youtube much”.
Kids, take your sleeping seriously and don’t sit up at night youtubin’ for the band.

    The way they come …
The way they come down on that riff after the breakdown and ‘my biggest mistake….’ at 3:11 is staggering, so strong and funky.

The Last Waltz is okay, but this earlier stuff is way better. It’s just the Band doing their thing. And no Neil Diamond.
