Just had a delicious Traditional Irish stew and Beef and Guinnes casserole in Oliver St. john Gogarty pub in Temple bar yesterday. Only 12.95 euro with brown bread and fresh chips. You won’t be hungry for the next 12 houres because the plates are big and well filled !

Try the Arlington Hotel in Temple Bar, they do a mouth watering Irish Stew and also offer a riverdance style Irish Show

temple bar is the beast place but you should also try johnny fox’s (the highest pub in ireland!) and the goat grill in goatstown. you can go pretty much anywhere but if your looking for music go to temple bar there is usually live music on there oh and whelans as well has music every night.

stay out of dublin its a rip off ,and the musicians in the sessions are only putting in their time to get paid .the good spontanious sessions are in the country towns and can only be found if you ask a local for direction , go north up around the border areas Monaghan and south Armagh. thats where the music is . as to irish stew make your own ,the stuff you ll buy out is not even made with lamb .if you get beef in stew its not irish.

You cant beat Gallaghers Boxty House in Temple Bar for the best homemade Irish stew and lots of other tasty delights, you must finish it off with bread&butter pudding with rum&raisin ice-cream with a shot of rum!! mmmmm delicious.
Live music in most pubs nearby too.

The Hairy Lemon off Grafton Street (near St Stephens green shopping centre) serve stew, as does the Porter house in Parliament street, they also have music on a Friday night, and possible all other nights too.

I think there is a trad music festival on at the minute, so you should have music everywhere, (but I thinks its over this week) For music try The Cobblestones in Smithfield, of the Merchant on the Quays, that pub is in a different time zone, its worth a look….
