Belle of the 90’s: Mae struts, harmonizes ‘My Old Flame,” and heats up a gallery of admirers in entertaining illustration of Western humor. Cast includes Mae West, Roger Pryor, Johnny Mack Brown, Warren Hymer, and Duke Ellington Orchestra. (73 minutes, 1934)

Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade: A typical venture spectacle has Ford in fine form and Connery amalgamating panache as Indy’s archaeologist dad, whose bizarre disappearance (when looking for the Holy Grail) sets the tale in motion. This intentionally old fashioned Saturday matinee has everything money might purchase, however on no account seriously creates a sense of marvel and enthusiasm. A certain advancement over the second Indiana Jones episode it still bears the mark of one too numerous trips to the well. Cast includes Harrison Ford, Sean Connery, Denholm Elliott, Alison Doody, John Rhys-Davies, Julian Glover, River Phoenix, Michael Byrne, and Alex Hyde-White. (127 minutes, 1989)

Benza, Henry G. Sanders, and Antonio Tarver. (102 minutes, 2006)

The Pleasure Garden: Hitchcock’s first work, shot in Munich is a choppy account of a pair of chorus gals, one sugary and knowing, the other a waif. They eventually both become involved with the same man. Cast includes Virginia Valli, Carmelita Geraghty, Miles Mander, Jolm Stuart, and George Snell. (68 minutes, 1935)

Irreconcilable Differences: A bittersweet comedy of a young couple that wed and found success till prosperity in Hollywood causes them to lose sense of what’s seriously vital in their lives. The outcome is that their 10 year old baby girl sues them for divorce! Cast includes Ryan O’Neal, Shelley Long, Drew Barrymore, Sam Wanamaker, Allen Garfield, Sharon Stone, and David Paymer. (117 minutes, 1984)

The Proud Rebel: Well presented post Civil War research of 2-fisted Southerner Ladd desiring medical help for mute child (played by Ladd’s actual child).Olivia de Havilland is the female who tames him. Cast includes Alan Ladd, Olivia de Havilland, Dean Jagger, David Ladd, Ceeil Kellaway, Henry Hull, John Carradine, and Dean Stanton. (103 minutes, 1958)

The Front: Bull’s eye comedy with heavy topic. Allen is a ‘front’ registered by blacklisted authors to set his name on their scripts throughout 1950s communist witchhunt, leading to assorted problems. Cast includes Woody Allen, Nil Mostel, Herschel Bernardi, Michael Murphy, Andrea Marcovicci, Remak Ramsay, Joshua Shelley, Lloyd Gough, and Danny Aiello. (94 minutes, 1976)
