The Most Excellent Movies From Pixar
by Troy T Dixon

The computer-animated film studio, Pixar, has brought the planet films that are much-loved by children and even by adults. Pixar has only made 10 films all in all so far, yet each of these brilliant movies has been a important and profit-making victory. As of this date, the studio has earned twenty-two Academy Awards, four Golden Globes and three Grammy’s, which have all served to make it one of the most significantly celebrated film studios in history.

The beginning of Pixar’s success begins in 1995 with the movie “Toy Story”. This brilliant movie follows the life of a beloved toy, Woody, the toy cowboy as he tries to contend for the position of most cherished toy with another new toy, Buzz Lightyear. The sequel, “Toy Story 2″ came out in 1999.

In between the success of the “Toy Story” movies came “A Bug’s Life” in the year 1998. This is the story of an ant name Flik who is determined to save the food that the ant colony worked hard to stockpile from some very voracious and ferocious grasshoppers.

“Monsters, Inc.” came out in 2001. It is a charming tale about the all of the monsters hiding under our kid’s beds and in their closets at night, a true masterpiece.

In 2003, the most commercially successful Pixar film to date, having grossed over $800 million worldwide, is “Finding Nemo”, the yarn of a appealing little clown fish, who gets separated from his father and taken away to live in an aquarium in a dentist’s office. The movie follows the adventure as Nemo’s father travels the deep-sea to retrieve his son.

Superhero’s at their finest hour describes the notable motion picture “The Incredibles” from the year 2004. Mr. and Mrs. Parr, formerly known as Mr. Incredible and Elastigirl try to find happiness in the suburbs by raising a family and having common careers under the government protection program. Can Elastigirl and the rest of the Incredible family save Mr. Incredible when he is overwhelmed by the lure of his past life.

These great films were followed by “Cars’ in 2006, a amusing movie about a car christened Lightning McQueen and what he learns about being happy and victorious in the city of Radiator Springs. “Ratatouille” in 2007, is about Remy the rat and his ideas of being a chef in a fine French restaurant. And from 2008, a movie all about Love, and the last remaining robot left inhabiting the earth,” Wall-E”.

And the movie that some say is the best Pixar film yet, from 2009, “Up”. Some dreams never die but we all get older. Can an elderly man make his ultimate dream come true? Maybe determination and perseverance are the only tools he really needs.
