Why is it easier to break into the Music Industry vs. Film?

It seems like all these people I bump into claim they have an album coming out, are recording in the studio, know so-and-so, etc. Yet when I talk to people more into the movie business, they all claim they didn't make this audition, its hard, and woo woo this. How come it seems like its easier to break into the music industry? I mean, how does one just automatically have an album coming out, and they barely seemed to work that hard to get there? Yet people trying out for theater or film have to get rejected over and over before even slightly getting their foot in the door? And I would prefer detailed answers- someone who can explain the logic as to why everybody and their momma can make an album, but when it comes to the film/theater industry, its so much harder.

What did you write. bye.
