how to break into the music industry?

i’m a young writer, singer and i play the guitar and i don’t know how to get my start in the music industry can anyone give me some tips?

The easy way:

sell out. Sell out as fast as you possibly can. Write something that Pepsi or Nike would just eat up and beg you to use in one of their commercials, and you’ll be in rich town in no time, and never have to write another song. Even if you did write another song, nobody would care because you’d be a sell out.

The hard way:

remain true to yourself. Write good music that’s always from the heart. Write and write until you really feel confident in at least 70% of your songs. Then get a band together, work them into your songs, and start performing at open mic nights while you look for bigger local bands to either open for or close for. From there, just build your following. Put up fliers about where you’re playing next and what people have said about you. Then, just work your ass off and try to tour other states close to you and spread out from there. Its a damn long road, but once you make it, and you’ve never compromised your integrity, you’ll not only be proud of yourself but everyone will respect you and what you stand for.

Good luck to you.
